A way of meditating that is truly yours
Mindfulness 1-on-1 is private coaching in meditation and stress reduction fundamentals both for newcomers—no meditation experience required—and for any meditator wanting guidance.
Guidance for meditators and newcomers
Mindfulness 1-on-1 is open to individuals and pairs (friends, partners). Sessions can be introductory, exploratory, or structured as a private MBSR program based on The 8-Week Course in mindfulness-based stress reduction.
How to begin
Contact Karin with questions or to schedule an orientation. Together, we’ll tailor an approach that is right for you. Sessions can be:
Introductory – learn the basics
Exploratory – ongoing sessions after the basics
Private MBSR – structured stress reduction program, read more below
An open style for ongoing meditators
Over time, in my own practice, I began to meditate in a more open way. In sessions for ongoing meditators, I offer guidance that you may use to move toward an open style, to find a way of meditating that is truly yours.

Setting up a private MBSR program with Karin
Private MBSR is a structured pre-paid and pre-scheduled 12-session program based on the 8-Week Course in mindfulness-based stress reduction.
People who benefit most from private MBSR are ready (ready enough!) to make a significant personal commitment to their healing. Between lessons, there are daily home assignments of about one hour. The home practice is essential to the work.
What to expect in private MBSR
- Begin with a one-hour orientation meeting
- Attend ten subsequent 90-minute sessions (weekly is recommended)
- Engage in an array of mindfulness practices through daily home assignments
- Attend a StressCare All-day Retreat (six hours, on a Saturday)
- Conclude with a one-hour follow-up meeting six weeks later
- Get StressCare Workbook and Guided Meditations (included)
- Read Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Full Catastrophe Living (optional-book not included)
- Detailed receipt is available upon completion
- The whole training includes 17 instruction hours, plus 6 retreat hours
- Continue your practice with Karin or in an Ongoing Practice program, if desired
In the orientation, we will review your objectives, stressors affecting you, health issues, and other factors to establish the best approach. I will introduce you to the basic strategies of MBSR.
MBSR is experiential learning. We will practice and thoroughly explore the MBSR curriculum over the next ten lessons. You will learn mindfulness and stress reduction fundamentals and how they relate to your life.
Contact Karin with questions or to schedule an orientation. An orientation can help you decide if this approach is right for you.
How to meet on ZOOM
All sessions are held on ZOOM, a web-based meeting platform. To join a ZOOM meeting, you’ll need a computer (desktop, laptop, tablet, or cell phone) and a stable internet connection. You do not need to create a ZOOM account. Once you’ve made an appointment, you’ll get details for joining your session.
