In response to COVID, all StressCare in-person classes, meetings, workshops, and events have been suspended throughout 2021. We are currently offering Online Live MBSR, ongoing meditation, and 1-on-1 online meetings with Karin or David on Zoom.
Due to COVID, all 8-Week MBSR Courses and All-day Retreats are being held "Online Live" on Zoom throughout 2021. Mindfulness 1-on-1 and ACT 1-on-1 sessions are online on Zoom, by appointment. Ocean Sangha meets weekly for online meditation. Alumni Classes have been temporarily suspended. Previously, our 8-Week MBSR Courses and other programs were meeting in person Berkeley, Oakland, Orinda and Walnut Creek.

Complete the registration form and pay by credit or debit card through PayPal—no account required. You will get a StressCare Welcome Email confirming your registration. Enrollment is complete when payment is received.

The 8-Week Online Live MBSR Course has three tuition tiers based on household income as indicated on the registration page, and as described in the StressCare Tuition Guidelines. Household income is a measure of the combined incomes of all people sharing a particular household or place of residence. “Income” means Adjusted Gross Income as reported on line 37 of Form 1040 or line 21 of Form 1040A.
Call us at (510) 540-8928 if you have very low income and are unable to pay the tuition. No one will be excluded due to inability to pay. A representative will speak with you about tuition assistance.

Cancellations received up to 8 days before the first class meeting will be refunded minus a $50 administrative fee. There are no refunds given for cancellations within 8 days of the first class meeting or any time thereafter, and no refunds given for incomplete attendance.

We do not allow make-ups during your course, or in other seasons. Once your course is complete, there are no opportunities for make-ups. Confidentiality and safety within each class is paramount.

Twenty-five (25) live hours of Continuting Education Credit (CE) are available for eligible RNs, LCSWs, MFTs, LPCCs, LLPSs and Psychologists for an additional $150, and compliance with the Rules for CE Particantion. Read more on our Medical Providers page.
Your health insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), or employer plan may help you cover the cost of the 8-Week Course. Your physician could write a prescription for stress reduction for you. Contact your insurance company to find out if they cover Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR). StressCare does not bill insurance companies. Upon completion of the course we can provide you with a detailed receipt for your use, if requested.

Bring a camping mat (recommended), yoga mat, or thick blanket for cushioning on the floor, and anything you need for sitting meditation, including cushions, benches, pillows, and additional blankets.
Wear comfortable clothing, and bring layers in case you feel chilly. A light blanket is recommended for the Body Scan and other long meditations where the body may cool down.
Bring a water bottle or other drinks, and bag lunch.
The All-day Retreat is a silent retreat. Participants will be asked to turn off cellphones. There is no talking, writing, or reading. You are invited to let go of these things during retreat, and get the profound benefit of being present together, moment by moment, with fellow practitioners.
