Return to retreat and get guidance in the fundamentals – it’s familiar but always different. Support and encourage yourself and others by practicing together. It’s easier than you think!
There is no charge for people who have completed our 8-Week Course or Mindfulness 1-on-1. Others attend for $20.
Sign-up is required for everyone so we know you’re coming.
What to bring
Snacks and medicines if needed
Yoga mat, camping mat, or thick blanket for work on the floor
Meditation cushions or benches if you like floor sitting
Light blanket or warm layers in case the room is chilly
Anything else you need to be supported and comfortable while sitting and lying down
Dress in loose, comfortable clothing.
What to leave at home
For the duration of retreat we will silence or turn off cell phones, remove watches, and refrain from reading and writing. Current students will have opportunity to discuss their retreat experience in the next class meeting. There is no need to bring your workbook.
Arrive and depart in silence
Participants enter and leave the retreat hall in silence. We simplify interactions by maintaining silence throughout the day and by “keeping custody of the eyes” (refraining from direct eye contact).

The Orinda Community Church Campus includes separate School, Sanctuary, and Fellowship Hall buildings connected by plazas and pathways on a hillside lot. Fellowship Hall is located directly across from the Sanctuary, uphill. Do not park in the lower lots dedicated to the School. Drive uphill on Irwin Way past the Sanctuary. Parking is in the upper lot on your right, directly across from Fellowship Hall, in spaces dedicated to church parking (watch for signs). Enter the Fellowship Hall building from the plaza or Irwin Way sides of the building. Class meets in the Fellowship Hall main room which is at the center of the building.
