Concentration practice helps the meditator sustain energy and focus, but importantly also leads to “calm abiding” – a state of stability and peace that includes both relaxation and vitality.
The retreat features one-pointed concentration exercises – including mantra, imagery, candle flame and music meditations – interspersed with periods of walking meditation, mindful yoga and silent sitting.
The day includes personal reflection, small and large group conversation, and teacher guidance.
There will be ample time for rest and exploration of the gardens, trails and nearby Muir Beach.
What to bring
There will be chairs and meditation cushions (zafus) available for your use.
- Bring your own cushion, meditation bench, or folding chair if you prefer
- Bring a yoga mat, camping mattress, or thick blanket for lying down on the floor
- Bring two light blankets
- Bring a bag lunch, snacks, water bottle, thermos with coffee/tea
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing
- Check the weather – and dress accordingly if you intend to walk during the mid-day break
Each participant is responsible for making timely payment to StressCare. No space is reserved until payment is received. When you register, payment is secure by debit or credit card through PayPal – no account required.
No refunds will be made for this one-day event. If you need to cancel your registration for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible so that your space can be made available to someone else. In the event of cancellation, your fee will be a much appreciated donation to StressCare.

Please allow plenty of time for your arrival at Green Gulch Farm. Leave time for parking your car and a short walk downhill to Still Water Hall.
Guest parking is in the upper lot off the main entry drive and is marked with signs. After parking your car, you will take a short walk downhill, first passing guest houses and then the Wheelwright Center on your right as you get closer to the center of the Green Gulch complex.
Still Water Hall is adjacent to Dragon’s Gate Temple (meditation hall), which is surrounded by a wood-plank wrap-around porch. There are site maps posted to help you get oriented, and a Welcome Center should you need in-person assistance.
