Individual stress reduction sessions are for men and women from all walks of life who face excessive stress in their personal lives, families, health conditions, finances and the wider community.
You can learn to reduce stress and pain, relax physically and mentally, feel energy and enthusiasm for life, think clearly, act decisively, and get the most out of medical and psychological treatment.
What’s in a session?
My individualized sessions begin with a one-hour introductory meeting which includes a careful review of your objectives, particular stressors affecting you, health issues and other factors to establish the best approach for you. I will also introduce you to the basic strategies of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Then, for best results, we’ll proceed through the StressCare Basic Curriculum in eight one-hour sessions in which I’ll give you thorough instruction in stress reduction methods and their application to your individual circumstances.
I will teach you meditation, breath and body awareness, mindful movement, awareness of everyday events and other therapeutic exercises tailored to your individual needs and circumstances. Instructional materials are included. Individual sessions are supplemented by daily exercises at home. Getting the most benefit requires steady effort.
After completing the Basic Curriculum, you may elect to schedule additional sessions with me to work further on specific issues that cause excessive stress. Or, you may continue your stress reduction practice independently, checking in with me from time to time as necessary, or proceed to a StressCare Advanced Course.
