Staying the Course

This course is for graduates who want to continue mindfulness practice with a group. It is designed to be “home base” for StressCare graduates and can be repeated as often as you wish.

Join senior StressCare teachers Karin Pfluger and David Weinberg in this eight-week session. Anchor your practice through the rhythm of regular meetings and the support of the group. Basic principles will be reviewed.

Stay the course with your mindfulness practice. This course is for both brand-new grads and returning participants.

Weekly classes begin with a practice routine in the first half. The second half of class introduces new exercises and concludes with time for discussion. Each class meeting includes:

  • Arrival – calming body and mind with mindful movement, on your feet or on the floor
  • Settling into silent sitting – the cornerstone of practice and heart of each class
  • A period of mindful walking
  • Time for new exercises
  • Time for discussion and group connection

You will be encouraged to develop your home practice with the instructor’s guidance and the support of the group. No homework is assigned.

The course includes eight consecutive evening meetings, 7:00 to 8:45 PM, and a silent 6-hour Saturday retreat.
