This 10-week course, especially suited for people dealing with excessive anxiety, is led by David Weinberg, senior StressCare teacher.
It includes a review of mindfulness basics and new exercises that demonstrate through active investigation and practice:
- How values can motivate meaningful action
- How resources can encourage willingness to enact values
- What can (and can’t) be controlled in daily life
- How acceptance of thoughts, feelings and emotions leads to healthier living
- How to free oneself from negative self-images
- How to proceed with obstacles
- How to loosen the hold of habitual thinking and feeling that inhibits personal choice and desired action
- How to cultivate willingness to act in valued directions
- Use of sacred space and ritual – rehearsing and actualizing commitment and wholeness in a world of limitations and constraints.
This is truly coming home as a mature adult, where values and actions are aligned. Everyday life—with its limitations and problems—is vivid and enlivening! One enjoys independence and inter-dependency.
You will be encouraged to develop your home practice with David’s guidance and the support of the group.
The course includes ten consecutive evening meetings, 7:00 to 9:00 PM, and a silent 6-hour Saturday retreat.
