StressCare’s 8-Week Course is the beginning—establishing a powerful and beneficial grounding in mindfulness – relieving unnecessary stress and pain. The long-term benefits of mindfulness are secured and enhanced through additional training and practical experience in our graduate courses, individual sessions, group practice options, and more.
Graduate courses are for people who completed the 8-Week Course or an appropriate equivalent. Please contact the instructor regarding equivalency.

Learning and practice opportunities include:
Staying the Course (8 Weeks)
Wondering how to keep mindfulness alive and well?
After completing the Basic 8-Week Course, many people wonder how to sustain the momentum of their mindfulness practice. In this low-key 8-week course we provide a framework for you to anchor regular practice in the company of others. Each class meeting features mindfulness in familiar forms – walking, moving, sitting, lying down, and breathing. Meetings include time for a question, brief check-in or guidance from the teacher. No homework is assigned. Co-led by senior teachers Karin Pfluger and David Weinberg.
Advancing in Stillness (10-Week Course)
Advance your practice while you address the roots of anxiety.
This 10-week course features active investigation of personal values and resources, uncovering of facts/myths about anxiety and depression, realistic acceptance of unwelcome thoughts and feelings, discovery of the limits of personal control, skillful ways of handling perceived barriers, and practical methods of taking valued action. Led by David Weinberg, StressCare senior teacher.
Magic of Breathing (10-Week Course)
Find joy in practice while you stabilize attention on breathing.
This 10-week course joins conscious breathing with poetic meditative guidance. Mindfulness practice and active inquiry enable us to take deeper care of body and mind and to connect more fully with the world. At the same time, we engage breathing as the vehicle for calming and joy in our practice. We are nourished so we can face adversity with equanimity and compassion. Led by Karin Pfluger, StressCare senior teacher.
Individual Sessions (One-on-One)
Maintain and deepen your practice with one-on-one guidance from an experienced StressCare teacher.
All-Day Retreats (Group Practice Day)
Refresh your practice by attending a StressCare All-Day Retreat.
The Whole Works (Group Practice, Study, Retreats)
Cultivate a whole-life practice with ongoing meditation and study.
The Whole Works includes weekly Zen meditation and three 8-week seminars per year. Whole Works meditation sessions, retreats and seminars are offered jointly by StressCare and Ocean Sangha and are led by David Weinberg, senior teacher.
